Developed entirely in-house, from the operating system and firmware to the user interface, Sense is designed alongside our hardware to optimise every part of the digital music experience — from how music is stored, managed and discovered to how it is processed and played. The result is a system where hardware and software are designed to work together, while giving you a simple, intuitive way to control your music.
Innuos Sense App is available on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire devices, also accessible through any web browser.

Changing the way people interact with music

Designed for Music
Hardware can only be as good as the software that runs it - Sense is built from the ground up, from the kernel to the control app, for high-fidelity music playback. Software and firmware engineering are not simply to operate the hardware, but to support sound quality through a highly optimised and low-latency design, with technologies such as Real-Time Kernel, AudioCore, Caching for in-memory playback, and websocket communication to reduce network polling.
One Library. All Your Music.
Bring together music stored on your Innuos system or NAS with your favourite streaming services in one unified library. Search, browse and play your collection without worrying about where it is stored, with support for Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, HighResAudio and IDAGIO, alongside Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2.
Complete Music Management
Sense gives you everything you need to build and manage your digital music collection. Rip CDs, download music directly from Qobuz, edit metadata, manage files and backups, create playlists and use advanced filters to quickly find exactly what you want to hear.
Classical, Properly Understood
Classical music demands more than artist, album and track. Sense intelligently connects composers, works, movements and performers, allowing you to browse by composer, work, conductor, orchestra or soloist and explore every recording of a work in your collection.
Discover More Music
Sense gives you different ways to explore your music. SmartQ lets you choose between familiar favourites from your existing library or related music that takes you beyond what you already own. Rich metadata, artist biographies, discographies, related artists and detailed album information give you even more ways to discover.
Unlock even more possibilities with our exclusive SenseUPnP feature, allowing you to stream audio directly to your existing UPnP devices through the elegant and intuitive Sense app.
Need even greater flexibility? Use your Innuos music server as a NAS or UPnP library, integrating as music library to other multiroom systems such Sonos.
Open and Flexible
Sense gives you the freedom to use your Innuos system in the way that suits you. While Sense provides the complete Innuos music experience, our hardware also supports Roon, HQPlayer and UPnP, as well as Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2. Innuos Music Servers can also run Roon Core, giving you the option to use your Innuos system as the heart of a Roon-based setup without needing a separate computer.
Seamless System Control
Sense provides a single interface for controlling your Innuos system, whether it is operating as a music server, streamer endpoint or both. Multiple Innuos systems can also be controlled independently or grouped for multi-room playback, giving you a consistent experience as your system grows.
Always Evolving
Because Sense is developed entirely by Innuos, we can continually improve it with new features, refinements and support for emerging technologies. FAQS
1. What is the difference between STREAM1 and STREAM3?
The STREAM3 builds on the STREAM1 with a similar feature set but benefits from a superior power supply for a significant step up in sound quality and is still an improvement over the LPS1 also. It has a more substantial chassis for shielding and vibration control, and due to its larger size can accommodate a wider range of output modules including the PhoenixI2S board and the PhoenixDAC.
2. Are these streamers, or servers?
Both – the modular nature of the internal storage, digital output modules or analog output modules allow many variations or combinations for the product to be a music server, a digital network player, or fully integrated streamer for direct connection to an amplifier. Tailor the system to what you want it to be
3. How does ZEN Next-Gen series improve over STREAM series?
ZEN Next-Gen and STREAM offer the same Sense app experience and overall features, but ZEN Next-Gen delivers superior sound with a more advanced power supply, PreciseAudio mainboard, and enhanced chassis. It also has more processing power to allow AudioCore technology and handles larger libraries with dual SSDs.
4. How does STREAM series differ from earlier Innuos products?
STREAM series carries on the successful legacy of ZEN Mk3 music servers and PULSE network players and combines them into a versatile, single product thanks to its flexible modular design. With the latest generation in design and premium components, our gateway product range sounds and performs better than ever.
5. Can I still rip CDs?
Yes! Our powerful CD ripping engine is still available in Sense app, you simply need to add a USB optical drive of your choice and make sure there is internal storage fitted in your system. This will behave just as if it were an internal CD ripper from our earlier products with the same automated process, and choice of FLAC or WAV ripping.
6. Which output module is right for me?
The best output module is the one that makes the most sense for your current system, and our modular design means that you can change your optimal output type in the future if your HiFi setup changes. We offer internal DAC modules for direct connection to amplifiers or powered speakers, and a variety of digital output modules to cater for what is best suited to your DAC.
7. What are the upgrade paths for the STREAM series?
Besides the output module and SSD bay which can be taken advantage of over time, the STREAM1 can be improved further with two add-on devices to form a STREAM1 ‘stack’. These are the partnering NET1 audiophile network switch, and the LPS1 power supply upgrade which is cable of powering and improving both the STREAM1 and NET1 simultaneously thanks to its dual power outputs.
The STREAM3 already benefits from a built-in high-end power supply but can be improved further with the addition of an audiophile network switch. The NET3 network switch is designed to perfectly partner the STREAM3, comprehensively addressing the network input stage using trickled-down engineering from our flagship NazaréNET.
