Your Innuos system should default to the desired output automatically upon first installation, but there are further options worth getting acquainted with to get the most performance from your setup and maximise all the potential features.
Choosing Output Device
1. Open your Innuos systems Sense dashboard via my.innuos.com or the Innuos Sense app and go to the SYSTEM page;
2. On the SYSTEM page go to the SETTINGS page;
3. On the SETTINGS page, go to AUDIO which will be the first option at the top of the page;
4. This page will list your player outputs that are physically connected to the system, including USB DACs, output modules and son. By default, this page will list the currently active audio output under the ‘This System’ category;
There is also a section for ‘Network Streamers’ relating to the SenseUPnP feature, which covered seperately in this chapter.
Beside the player there is a ‘cog’ icon for more settings. Select this to access the audio output settings for the player.

Output Selection
This will list any active outputs currently detected by the system.
Having Auto-Select enabled will make the system automatically switch to newly detected DACs, and switch to the next available output if the current/primary output device is disconnected.
Disable Auto-Select if you do not want the system to automatically switch output to available players, and instead you wish to manually specify the output type at all times.
If there have been a change of connected output devices or DACs, you can use Refresh to update the list of available outputs you can play through.
DSD Mode
Here you can set the DSD behaviour of the Innuos player when playing .DSF and .DFF files. If using an external DAC.
No DSD Support – This best used when your connected DAC has no DSD support at all or prefers high-resolution PCM (including DXD) instead.
DSD over PCM (DoP) – This allows DSD playback up to a maximum DSD256 through supported DACs and is the recommended mode if NativeDSD playback is not possible with your DAC.
Native DSD – This mode will play DSD natively if compatible with the connected DAC.
USB Latency Mode
By default, this parameter is set to ‘Normal’ to provide a safer buffer for USB DACs. However, setting it to ‘Low’ has the potential to enhance sound quality further. We recommend switching to ‘Low’ and testing the performance. If you encounter any issues, such as no sound or audible pops, simply revert the setting back to ‘Normal’.
Sampling Rate Change Delay
Some DACs have a small delay in their output when switching between different sampling rates fed from the source, which can result in the very first beginning of the track being slightly cut-off. With this setting, you can apply a small delay to allow time for the DAC to change its switch in sample rate before the song is played, helping to ensure you do not truncate the beginning of the track.

PCM Sampling Rate Limit
Here you can set a maximum Sampling Rate to the audio output, therefore downsampling any higher resolution files down to a lower rate so that it complies with any connected DACs that do not support certain resolutions. The current Sample Rate Limit options are 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz.

MQA Software Decoding
With this enabled, the Innuos system will perform the ‘first unfold’ of any MQA content in your library, regardless of the type of DAC that is connected.
